Students and faculty members of the College participate in extension activities organized by the NSS wing of the College. Tree plantation, anti-malarial campaigns, AIDS awareness, literacy drives etc. are conducted by the NSS in order to promote the participation of students and faculty in extension activities. Blood donation by NSS volunteers is done on various occasions like Sahid Diwas, Blood Donors Day, etc.
Recently on 12 December 2013 the Kurseong College NSS unit organized a programme on Thalassemia awareness in the college premises which is reportedly the first such awareness campaign to be held anywhere in the Hills.150 students of the college were tested for Thalassemia Virus by experts from the Thalassemia Control Unit, North Bengal Medical College, Siliguri.
Besides the awareness campaign on Thalassemia and medical check-ups.

The National Service Scheme, Units Kurseong College has implemented one of the major components of NSS that is adoption of villages. On 15th December 2025 the units of our college NSS unit I adopted Kothidhura, Singell Tea Estate, Kurseong and NSS Unit II adopted Jucksingh dhura, Ambootia Tea Estate, Kurseong, respectively. NSS Units are actively engaged in organizing “Special Camps” in these villages. In the development perspective of these villages, literacy programmes, drug awareness , waste management, fire fighting drills, mental health awareness, anti trafficking , menstrual hygiene awareness, education on child abuse, sustainable environmental practices, anti rabies camp, consumer awareness, livelihood awareness, A cleanliness drive, blood donation and health camps, have been executed by NSS Units in the above mentioned adopted villages.
The National Service Scheme aims to develop personality of students through community services. There are a series of regular activities conducted throughout the academic years (2023-2025) focusing on social awareness, community development, health, education, environmental protection, visit to old age homes and youth engagement. Our College has been receiving Regular Blood Donor Awards from Kurseong Hospital Blood Bank. Helping the victims affected by Teesta Floods was one of our major community service programmes. Three of our NSS volunteers have been selected as Trail Blazer Fellows and two of them have been working in different projects in coordination with Eastern Himalayan Foundation, Darjeeling Reports attached here with details of all the events from July 2023 till date.
