Kurseong College, a co-educational institute of higher learning with all the three streams of Arts, Commerce and Science, was established in the year 1967 with an objective of providing undergraduate level education to the people of Kurseong Sub-Division and the surrounding areas of hills, Terai and Dooars. The motto of the College since its inception has always been “Akash tira Pakheta Chalon, Prithvi Basera”, which literally means “Spread your wings with your feet on the earth”. In other words, to provide quality education to help our students to excel themselves in life and become successful as well as good human beings.

The College holds special position not only in Darjeeling district but also in whole North Bengal for its wide academic offerings, enviable faculty and multicultural ambience. As a Govt.-aided college recognized by UGC and affiliated to University of North Bengal, Kurseong College always tries to keep the spirit of academics high and become the best place of higher education in the “Land of White Orchids”, i.e. Kurseong.

CORE VALUES OF THE INSTITUTION

The flavour of national identities and symbols and its celebration in Kurseong College has a different charm. The entire hills of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal celebrate the national festivals and its importance with a great fervour. Kurseong College celebrates every year the Independence Day and hoists the national flag in the College premises. A senior member or the Principal himself addresses the students, teachers, non-teaching members as well as the visitors. The speaker normally ignites the importance to increase consciousness about national identities and symbols. The institution plans and organises the programme inviting all the students of different departments, NSS, NCC, Alumni and the members of civil society. College participates in the local celebrations in the town area and leads the entire display of the march past and flag hoisting ceremony. Apart from the Independence Day, College also celebrates the Republic Day every year. Though it falls in the winter vacation, College plans and organises the event with full fervour and enthusiasm. The participation from all the corners in this programme is always over whelming.

संस्थानको मूल सार 

खर्साङ कलेजले मनाउने राष्ट्रीय पहिचान र चिन्हारीको सुवास अरूभन्दा एक छुट्टै र भिन्न आकर्षणको छ। पश्चिम बङ्गालको उप-हिमालय पहाडी क्षेत्रमा बसोवास गर्ने सम्पूर्ण मानिसहरूले राष्ट्रिय उत्सव र यसको महत्त्वलाई ठूलो उत्साहका साथ मनाउने र लिने गर्दछन्। खर्साङ कलेजले पनि प्रत्येक वर्ष स्वतन्त्रता दिवस मनाउँदछ भने कलेज परिसरमा राष्ट्रिय झण्डा फहराउने गर्दछ। कलेजका प्राचार्य तथा वरिष्ठ प्राध्यापक स्वयंले उपस्थित शिक्षण, अशिक्षण, विद्यार्थी साथै अतिथिहरूलाई उत्साहपूर्वक सम्बोधन गर्छन्। वक्ताले सामान्यतया राष्ट्रिय पहिचान र चिन्हारीका बारेमा चेतना बढाउने महत्त्वलाई प्रज्वलित गर्दछ। संस्थानले योजनाबद्ध सित विभिन्न विभागका सबै विद्यार्थी, एनएसएस, एनसीसी, एलुमनाई र नागरिक समाजका सदस्यहरूलाई आमन्त्रण गरेर कार्यक्रमको आयोजना गर्दछ। सहर क्षेत्रमा हुने स्थानीय उत्सवहरूमा समेत कलेजले भाग लिने गर्दछ र मार्चपास्ट र झण्डा फहराउने समारोहको सम्पूर्ण प्रदर्शनको नेतृत्व गर्दछ। स्वतन्त्रता दिवसबाहेक, कलेजले प्रत्येक वर्ष गणतन्त्र दिवस पनि मनाउने गर्दछ। यो उत्सव शीत कालीन बिदामा परे पनि कलेजले कार्यक्रमलाई पूर्ण जोश र उत्साहका साथ योजनाबद्ध रूपमा आयोजना गर्दछ। यस कार्यक्रममा गाउँबस्ती, चियाकमान, सहर आदि क्षेत्रका मानिसहरूको सदैव उत्कृष्ट सहभागिता हुने गर्दछ।

জাতীয়তাবাদী ভাবধারায় উদ্বুদ্ধ এক শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান 

জাতির পরিচয়বাহী সত্তা তথা প্রতীকের বৈশিষ্ট্যসূচক অনুভূতি নিয়ে বিভিন্ন অনুষ্ঠান এক স্বতন্ত্র মহিমায় কার্শিয়াং মহাবিদ্যালয়ে নিয়মিত উদযাপিত হয়ে থাকে । হিমালয়ের পাদদেশবর্তী পশ্চিম বঙ্গের সমগ্র পার্বত্য অঞ্চলে জাতীয় উৎসবাবলীর গুরুত্ব অপরিসীম এবং প্রভূত উদ্দীপনায় তার উদযাপন হয়। কার্শিয়াং মহাবিদ্যালয়েও প্রতি বছর স্বাধীনতা দিবস পালন এবং যথাযোগ্য মর্যাদায় মহাবিদ্যালয় প্রাঙ্গনে জাতীয় পতাকার উত্তোলন করা হয়। সাধারণত কোনো বরিষ্ঠ শিক্ষক অথবা অধ্যক্ষ মহোদয় স্বয়ং , এই শিক্ষায়তনের বিদ্যার্থী- শিক্ষক-অশিক্ষক কর্মচারী সদস্যবৃন্দ এবং অতিথি অভ্যাগতদের উদ্দেশ্যে দিনটির গুরুত্ব তুলে ধরে বক্তব্য রাখেন। এ ক্ষেত্রে বক্তা সাধারণত জাতীয় সত্তা ও জাতির পরিচয়বাহী প্রতীক সম্পর্কিত চেতনার উন্মেষ ঘটানোর প্রয়াস নিয়ে থাকেন। এই শিক্ষায়তনের তরফে বিভিন্ন বিভাগের সকল ছাত্রছাত্রী , এন এস এস, এন সি সির সদস্যবৃন্দ , প্রাক্তনী এবং সমাজের বিভিন্ন গণ্যমান্য ব্যক্তিদের আমন্ত্রণ জানিয়ে নানাবিধ অনুষ্ঠানের পরিকল্পনা গ্রহণ করা হয় ও যথা সময়ে তার বাস্তব রূপ দেওয়া হয়। মহাবিদ্যালয়ের পক্ষ থেকেও শহরে আয়োজিত বিভিন্ন অনুষ্ঠান সমূহে অংশগ্রহণ করা হয় এবং পতাকা উত্তোলন সহ শহরের কুচকাওয়াজ সমারোহে এই মহাবিদ্যালয় প্রায়শই নেতৃত্ব প্রদান করে থাকে। স্বাধীনতা দিবস ছাড়াও প্রতি বছর এই বিদ্যায়তনে প্রজাতন্ত্র দিবসের উদযাপন হয়। যদিও তখন শীতকালীন ছুটির সময় , তথাপি পূর্ণ মর্যাদায় উৎসাহ উদ্দীপনার মধ্য দিয়ে ওই দিনটি বিভিন্ন অনুষ্ঠান আয়োজনের মাধ্যমে উদযাপিত হয়। সকলের অংশ গ্রহণে এই অনুষ্ঠানটিও হয়ে ওঠে সর্বাঙ্গ সুন্দর ।।

संस्था के बुनियादी मूल्य

कार्सियांग कॉलेज में राष्ट्रीय पहचाि के स्वाद एवं प्रतीकों और उसके उत्सव का एक अलग ही आकर्षण है। कार्सियांग कॉलेज हर साल स्वतंत्रता ददवस मिाता है और कॉलेज परिसर में राष्ट्रीय ध्वज फहराता है। एक वरिष्ठ सदस्य या प्रधानाचार्य स्वयं छात्रों, निक्षकों, गैर-निक्षण सदस्यों के साथ-साथ आगंतुकों को संबोधित करते हैं। वक्ता आमतौर पर राष्ट्रीय पहचान और प्रतीकों के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के महत्व को प्रज्वलित करता है। संस्था विभिन्न विभागों, एनएसएस, एनसीसी, पूर्व छात्रों और नागरिक समाज के सदस्यों के सभी छात्रों को आमंत्रित करने के लिए कार्यक्रम की योजना और आयोजन करती है। कॉलेज टाउन क्षेत्र में स्थानीय समारोहों में भाग लेता है और मार्च पास्ट और ध्वजारोहण समारोह के पूरे प्रदर्शन का नेतृत्व करता है। स्वतंत्रता दिवस के अलावा, कॉलेज हर साल गणतंत्र दिवस भी मनाता है। हालांकि यह शीतकालीन अवकाश में पड़ता है, कॉलेज योजना बनाता है और पूरे जोश और उत्साह के साथ कार्यक्रम का आयोजन करता है। इस कार्यक्रम में सब की और से बहुत ही अच्छा भागीदारी होता हैं।
